How we work
The short version
You tell us what you make and what machine it runs on. We match the tooling, quote it, inspect it before it ships and send the report with the goods. Below is what that looks like step by step, and the terms we work to.
Every item is inspected before it ships, and you have one named contact for the order from quote to after-sales.
Step by step
1. Tell us the machine, not the part number
Most of our buyers know their machine model, the wire or rod sizes and the product they make, and not much else — and that is enough. We keep model-to-tooling references for the common nail machines, cold rolling mills, headers and drawing machines, and we match from there. If the machine is unusual, a photo of the worn tooling with its main dimensions does the job.
2. Made to model, drawing or sample
Three ways to specify: the machine model (standard tooling); your drawing (custom parts — heading tooling, solid carbide rollers, collating wheels, shaped dies); or a worn sample, which we measure and draw. Tell us which you are sending and we take it from there.
3. Quoted in writing, valid 30 days
Quotes are itemised and valid for 30 days. Tungsten prices move; if they move sharply before you confirm, we tell you before the order is placed, not after. Minimum quantities are small and are stated on each product page.
4. Inspected before it ships
Every delivery carries a full-dimension inspection report against the drawing or the agreed specification. Tool-steel parts are hardness-tested; carbide parts are checked for size and finish. If something is outside tolerance it does not ship.
5. Complete sets and marking
For cold rolling mills we supply the full ring set for the line, with roller holders and cassettes if you want them, so the whole mill is tooled from one order. Rings and other parts can be marked with your reference or logo on request — many of our mesh customers ask for it.
6. Lead time and payment
Lead time is confirmed with the quote and depends on the item: standard dies ship fastest, custom heading tooling and complete ring sets take longer. Normal payment is by bank transfer in advance; other arrangements are agreed case by case with your service contact. Overseas bank charges are for the buyer's account.
7. After delivery
You have one named service contact for the order. Quality concerns are raised in writing within 30 days of arrival, with photos and measurements, and we deal with them against the inspection report. Payment details only ever come from an @relink.tools address — if you receive bank details from anywhere else, check with us first.
Questions about ordering
What happens after I send a quote request?
You get a written, itemised quote, normally with a lead time, from an @relink.tools address. If we need the machine model or a dimension to quote properly, we ask first.
Do you send free samples?
No. Samples are charged at unit price and credited against the first production order.
What are your payment terms?
Bank transfer in advance for standard orders. Where a different arrangement is needed, agree it with your service contact before the order is confirmed.
How do I raise a quality problem?
In writing, within 30 days of arrival, with photos and measurements. We compare against the inspection report that shipped with the goods and agree the remedy with you.
Can I order die cores or blanks without the steel case?
Yes. Die cores and blanks are sold on their own as well as finished dies — see the drawing die pages.
